Question of Sport Inquiry
In the last Parliament, The Northern Culture All-Party Parliamentary Group (NCAPPG) commissioned the Question of Sport Inquiry to examine the cultural and economic value of sport in the North of England. We heard from Ministers, Olympians, sporting legends and a whole host of cultural and sporting organisations across the North.
The Question of Sport Report, highlights the transformative role that sport plays in strengthening Northern communities and addressing regional inequalities.
Recognising the region as the spiritual home of British sport, the inquiry explored how sport strengthens communities, boosts the economy, improves health, and enriches cultural identity.
Evidence was gathered from a diverse range of stakeholders across towns, cities, and regions in the North, highlighting sport’s unique role in addressing inequalities and enhancing quality of life.
Sporting and cultural leaders from across the North have joined together to contribute and give evidence to the Inquiry.
The Question of Sport report is a joined up shout out for “rocket booster” investment in the North’s rich talent pipeline.
